John CluneCEO & Chief Strategist
John Clune is CEO and Chief Strategist at Cavern Technologies. John originally joined the company as President and owner where he focused on building the company’s core competency of providing state-of-the-art data center solutions. Recently John transitioned to CEO and the lead strategic role. As CEO and Chief Strategist of Cavern, John believes in providing a high level of value to clients, through creating innovative solutions that maximize ROI. As John sets the vision for the company, he is dedicated to excellence at all levels of service to clients, not only for today’s needs, but as the industry evolves in the years to come.
Prior to joining Cavern, Mr. Clune was Vice President at Lockton, Atlanta – a Kansas City-based company known for providing midsize to large corporations with exceptional insurance and risk management solutions. During his tenure with Lockton, he earned his ARM (Associate in Risk Management). John’s background also includes experience in the Technology sector with the Thomson Financial Company, as they developed a Web-based research product targeted to the legal community.
Mr. Clune is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on mission critical infrastructure. He is also an avid golfer and licensed pilot.
Sean KhuranaPresident & COO
Sean Khurana is President and Chief Operating Officer of Cavern Technologies. Sean oversees daily operations and ongoing development initiatives to maintain and expand Cavern’s position as a leading data center solutions provider. Sean is dedicated to leading innovation in the industry and providing customers with product and service offerings that are second to none.
Mr. Khurana has a strong background in leading major business initiatives for large startups and Fortune 500 firms. His expertise in building businesses around new products, technologies, and customer segments are valuable assets. Most recently, Khurana was Senior VP for Avatron Park, a mega startup theme park based in Atlanta, GA. Prior positions included VP, Product Marketing for Cablevision in New York, NY, and VP, Strategic Programs and Business Operations for Sprint-Nextel, in Overland Park, KS. Sean also served as Chief of Staff, reporting directly to the Sprint CEO.
Mr. Khurana holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also has an MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University, and an MS in Physics, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering, from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Sean is actively involved as a community leader, serving as a Board Member for the Johnson County Community College Foundation and earning recognition on the Kansas City Civic Council as a Kansas City Tomorrow Nominee.
Peter F. Clune, Jr.Chairman
Peter Clune is the Chief Executive Officer of Cavern Technologies. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Clune oversees all aspects of data center operations, product development and delivery of services. His primary goal is to meet and exceed clients’ diverse requirements for IT infrastructure services.
Before joining Cavern Technologies, Peter spent 15 years as a Capital Formation Manager, managing and consulting with IT-related companies that ranged in size from startups to publicly traded entities. His hands-on experience with companies that built and sold hardware, software, connectivity, service and support brings a truly unique skill set to Cavern Technologies.
Mr. Clune’s background also includes 14 years of commercial banking where he served part of that tenure as President and Vice Chairman of a local Kansas City bank. His wide range of experience and insight into business needs gives Cavern Technologies the ability to react quickly to mutually profitable opportunities with their customers.
Annie NolandVice President of Finance & Administration
Annie Noland is VP of Finance and Administration at Cavern Technologies and joined the leadership team in 2016. In her current role, Annie oversees finance, marketing, and business operations. Under her direction, Cavern will continue to deliver data center solutions by staying true to their mission of serving with integrity, delivering customized solutions, and partnering with customers to grow their businesses.
Prior to joining the team, Ms. Noland was President of Generation Technologies, a cloud-based content management service for television news. In her role, she led engineers and developers in the transition to a service-based model for news content exchange, overseeing strategic planning, new product development, operations, sales, marketing and finance.
A native of Colorado, Annie earned her Bachelor’s in Finance from Colorado State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and worked in both the public and private accounting sectors. Previously she owned a consulting business serving customers in the telecommunication, medical, property development and not-for-profit areas.
Alex HarkleroadSenior Systems Administrator
Alex Harkleroad is Senior Systems Administrator at Cavern Technologies. Alex joined Cavern Technologies seven years ago, with a strong and diverse set of skills. His goal was to exceed client expectations by placing service leadership at the forefront of our technology team – providing competent, supportive and responsive services to our clients.
Prior to joining Cavern Technologies, Mr. Harkleroad’s experience in the information technology field spanned nearly a decade in network and systems administration and operations management. He served for a Kansas City-based school district, as well as H&R Block, where he supervised 30 direct reports in an area service center and was the key technical liaison. During his tenure in IT, Alex has been certified in several of today’s industry-leading business and technology systems and applications.
Scott HerronVice President of Data Center Operations
Scott Herron, CDCP is the VP of Data Center Operations at Cavern Technologies. Scott joined Cavern Technologies in 2009, bringing an impressive and diverse set of skills and experience. Mr. Herron works closely with Cavern’s operations team to provide superior maintenance of our facility, and ultimately ensures uptime, reliability and energy efficiency for our data centers. Scott is dedicated to exceeding client expectations in all aspects of facility management.
Before joining Cavern Technologies, Scott was a skilled private business owner and operator, with extensive experience in property management, HVAC and network cabling. Mr. Herron attended the University of Kansas and is a graduate of Ottawa University.
Brent JeffriesSales Engineer
Brent Jeffries is a Sales Engineer at Cavern Technologies. In his role with Cavern, Brent is committed to providing a secure, state-of-the-art data center environment with a superior technical support staff. He believes that Cavern’s strong focus on meeting our clients’ unique requirements to house critical data within a world-class infrastructure sets us apart from our competitors.
Prior to joining Cavern Technologies, Mr. Jeffries spent over 15 years honing his IT skills in infrastructure management, automation and operations, serving for companies like Zurich Direct, Sprint, Federal Express and UPS. He also has extensive expertise in process modeling, technical operations and leading new growth initiatives.
Brent is a graduate of Baker University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He also attended Central Missouri State’s Graduate School of Management, studying IT project management, ergonomics and other disciplines.
Mike McDanielVice President of Facilities Engineering
Mike McDaniel is VP of Facilities Engineering at Cavern. He joined the team in 2016 and oversees capital planning, data center site engineering and expansions. Mike’s goal is to maintain Cavern’s high standards of redundancy, security, and efficiency while optimizing ROI for clients in their mission-critical environments.
Before joining Cavern, Mike managed Critical Environment Properties with CBRE, a multibillion-dollar global commercial real estate services firm. While with CBRE, Mike was responsible for managing Fortune 500 data center properties, including AT&T and Bank of America. Earlier career experience includes H&R Block, Sprint PCS, and Ameriprise.
Mike earned his Bachelor’s in Business & Accounting from the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) and an MBA from Rockhurst University.
Dave ScottManager of Facilities
Dave Scott, CDFOM is the Manger of Facilities at Cavern Technologies. In his role, Dave maintains the mission critical operations of Cavern, which are vital to the uptime and sustainability of our client’s mission critical data centers. Mr. Scott oversees all aspects of infrastructure operations for our Clients and is dedicated to providing operational excellence within Cavern’s secure, reliable, state-of-the-art facility.
Prior to joining Cavern Technologies, Mr. Scott spent over 20 years as a service technician for the Kansas City region’s leading HVAC and Refrigeration companies. His depth of experience in chillers, DDC Controls, VAV Systems, computer room control and Data Center Infrastructure Management give Cavern a deep and trusted resource for our cooling infrastructure and beyond. Dave carries EPA, R410A, Master Pipefitter and Backflow certification.
Mr. Scott is a graduate of Vatterott College in specialized heating, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation.
