HVAC Specialist

This position reports to the VP of Facilities Engineering and Management.

Key Objectives

  • Perform on-site preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance, repair and calibration of all HVAC equipment
  • Respond to all HVAC issues and troubleshoot the systems to meet the uptime requirements of a critical environment

Responsibilities

  • Repair and properly maintain all HVAC units across the facility.
  • Conduct building tours, maintain equipment loss and report deficiencies for corrective action.
  • Document the data center operations Methods of Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures for HVAC equipment.
  • Physically inspect buildings, grounds, and HVAC equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning
  • conditions.
  • Respond to off-hour emergency calls in person.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Percentage completion of preventative and corrective maintenance work orders on time
  • Project completion on time and within budget (when assigned)
  • Completion of development and training (OSHA and Liebert Certifications)

Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills of HVAC equipment
  • CFC/EPA Certification required
  • Knowledge of HVAC and building codes
  • Successful completion of factory training for Liebert Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) equipment (if applicant, possesses Liebert training, considered a plus)

Physical Demands of Job and General Work Environment

  • Ability to occasionally lift 100+ lbs
  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work from a ladder up to 18 feet
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment with long periods of high temperatures

Customer Experience Specialist

This position reports to the VP of Facilities Engineering and Management.

Key Objectives

  • Maintain uptime of the critical environment through corrective and preventative maintenance work orders
  • Manage quality & process controls for critical facility management
  • Coordinate maintenance of facility systems (fire alarm, sprinkler, security system, camera system, electrical distribution, building management system, HVAC & UPS systems)
  • Project management and planning of facility systems and projects

Responsibilities

1.) Facility Procedures

  • Promote and support the creation, review, and approval of critical system procedures.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the data center operations MOP.
  • Manage, improve, and execute the critical and non-critical systems maintenance plans.
  • Measure/improve data center utilization and efficiency.
  • Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all new processes/procedures, while
  • following and continuously improving Cavern’s existing processes/procedures.

2.) Facilities Management

  • Responsible for physically inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or
  • malfunctioning conditions.
  • Source and manage facility vendors, including development of a balanced scorecard.
  • Monitor energy efficiency and capacity of all equipment, including UPSs, generators and
  • transformers.
  • Manage facility infrastructure projects as assigned.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend data center technologies to support business requirements and improve operations.
  • Respond to off-hour emergency calls online or in person.
  • Generate, complete and close all maintenance and repair tickets timely.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Percentage completion of preventative and corrective maintenance work orders on time
  • Adherence to process and controls documentation
  • Project completion on time and within budget
  • Completion of development and training (OSHA and Data Center Training)

Skills

  • Knowledge of building codes and facility management best practices
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of HVAC, standby power generation, electrical distribution and UPS Systems. Specialized expertise in any one category is a plus.

  • Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift.
  • Work from a ladder up to 18 feet
  • Respond to building issues 24 X 7
