Vice President - Sales

Cavern Technologies, Inc. is a leading provider in the development, leasing and operation of build-to-suit wholesale data centers in the Kansas City region. Located 125-feet underground in a 3-million-square-foot facility, Cavern is designed to meet the specialized power, cooling and security requirements companies need to house IT systems that support their mission-critical business processes. Cavern provides tenants with unique business solutions and a value proposition focused on minimizing the total cost of ownership of data center and colocation infrastructure.

This position reports to the President/COO, with close relationships to VPs of Facilities Engineering, Finance, Operations and the CEO. The newly created position is responsible for proactively developing, implementing and directing business development activities that meet sales objectives as part of the overall growth strategy of the company. Responsibilities include to create, build, and refine sales funnels and culture to increase revenue growth while increasing profitability margins.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sales funnel management by identifying and managing key prospects
  • Build Reseller and Broker Channels both inside and outside of Kansas City
  • Meet/exceed sales quotas
  • Lead renewals for strategic accounts
  • Identify, target, and participate in industry trade shows and conferences
  • Prepare and present monthly operational reports and KPI’s to key leadership
  • Lead marketing strategy and manage outside marketing partner and prioritization of marketing initiatives (optional)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 – 10 years of sales/sales management experience within a datacenter/IT environment
  • Knowledge and passion for the complete sales process, from lead development through implementation
  • Strong ability to analyze and react to potential business opportunities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced experience and understanding between sales and marketing teams and knowledge of effective lead generation tactics
  • Technical knowledge of data centers or prior roles working with data centers or technology sales is preferred
  • Knowledge of the regional IT market is a plus
  • Ability to travel as needed for trade shows or when qualified business opportunities are uncovered

Compensation

  • Base compensation based on market, experience level and characteristics of candidate

Customer Experience Specialist

Cavern provides tenants with unique business solutions and a value proposition focused on minimizing the total cost of ownership of data center and colocation infrastructure.

This position reports to the VP of Customer Operations. The primary job function is to provide security services to critical datacenter environments. Position requires customer service experience and to ensure safety and security measures are applied effectively and consistently to those who enter the facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Security
    • Assist customers/vendors with the Cavern ID check-in system.
    • Monitor security cameras during tours to ensure access is controlled.
    • Manage security and facility tickets within internal ticketing system and ensure tickets are cleared quickly and systematically.
    • Maintain accurate list of FOB checkout books at site.
    • Coordinate the arrival of vendors and maintain proper documentation for vendors performing work on site. Escort vendors to/from suites as necessary and appropriate.
    • Assist customers with securing access. Maintain facial recognition units and validate access is accurate for customers.
  2. Facilities
    • Enforce critical environment policies for safety and security and proper operations.
      Assist with facility paperwork as required.
    • Facilitate customer and vendor shipments to/from the facility. Coordinate/direct customers and vendors to secure rooms (storage and telco rooms) for shipments. Maintain shipping and package log books and assignment upon acceptance.
    • Provide support for sales meetings and tours. Coordinate room reservations and facilities set up in advance and general monitoring/guidance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred with an outstanding customer service attitude
  • Functions as an effective team player and adapts as the environment evolves
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be motivated and a reliable self-starter
  • Ability to handle time sensitive responsibilities
  • Knowledge of MS product suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
