Peter F. Clune, Jr.
Peter Clune is the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Cavern Technologies. Although retired from the day-to-day operations of Cavern Technologies, Pete still provides general oversight of the business and strategic direction.
John co-founded the company as President and owner where he focused on building the company’s core competency of providing state-of-the-art data center solutions. John transitioned to CEO and the lead strategic role. As CEO of Cavern, John believes in providing a high level of value to clients, through creating innovative solutions that maximize ROI. As John sets the vision for the company, he is dedicated to excellence at all levels of service to clients, not only for today’s needs, but as the industry evolves in the years to come.
Prior to joining Cavern, John was Vice President at Lockton, Atlanta — a Kansas City-based company known for providing midsize to large corporations with exceptional insurance and risk management solutions. During his tenure with Lockton, he earned his ARM (Associate in Risk Management). John’s background also includes experience in the Technology sector with the Thomson Financial Company, as they developed a web-based research product targeted to the legal community.
John is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on mission critical infrastructure. He is also an avid golfer and licensed pilot.
President & Chief Growth Officer
Sean oversees daily operations and ongoing development initiatives to maintain and expand Cavern’s position as a leading data center solutions provider. Sean is dedicated to leading innovation in the industry and providing customers with product and service offerings that are second to none.
Sean has a strong background in leading major business initiatives for large startups and Fortune 500 firms. His expertise in building businesses around new products, technologies and customer segments are valuable assets. Most recently, Sean was Senior VP for Avatron Park, a mega startup theme park based in Atlanta, GA. Prior positions include VP, Product Marketing for Cablevision in New York, NY, and VP, Strategic Programs and Business Operations for Sprint-Nextel, in Overland Park, KS. Sean also served as Chief of Staff, reporting directly to the Sprint CEO.
Sean holds an MBA in Strategic Management and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also has an MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University, and an MS in Physics, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering, from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Sean is actively involved as a community leader, serving as a Board Member for the Johnson County Community College Foundation and earning recognition on the Kansas City Civic Council as a Kansas City Tomorrow Nominee.
Chief Operations Officer
Scott joined Cavern Technologies in 2009, bringing an impressive and diverse set of skills and experience. He works closely with Cavern’s operations team to provide superior maintenance of our facility, and ultimately ensures uptime, reliability and energy efficiency for our data centers. Scott is dedicated to exceeding client expectations in all aspects of facility management.
Before joining Cavern Technologies, Scott was a skilled private business owner and operator, with extensive experience in property management, HVAC and network cabling. Scott attended the University of Kansas and is a graduate of Ottawa University.
Mary Beth Compton
Chief Administrative Officer
Mary Beth is an attorney by training and is responsible for a wide array of functions in her role, including Legal, Finance, HR and Marketing. She enjoys supporting both the business and the creative sides of Cavern, and she is especially focused on people and culture. Mary Beth is also passionate about Cavern’s role in the community and leads the company’s charitable giving efforts.
Mary Beth graduated from the University of Missouri in 1991 with a BA in Economics with Honors. She then attended UMKC School of Law and graduated in 1994. Mary Beth’s career path has afforded her many diverse opportunities, including practicing law full time, leading several area nonprofits, as well as serving as the Chief Administrative Officer for a large local business.
Vice President of Facilities
Mike joined our team in 2017, and was previously the Facilities Manager. Mike is dedicated to providing operational excellence within Cavern’s secure, reliable, state-of-the-art facility. In his role, Mike manages the operations and maintenance of the critical facility physical infrastructures systems at Cavern, which are vital to the uptime and sustainability of our clients’ mission critical data centers. He oversees all aspects of facility operations on critical systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC and computer maintenance management systems. He is also responsible for facility development, including construction management and infrastructure upgrades.
Prior to joining Cavern Technologies, Mike spent over 25 years in numerous facility leadership roles across various industries in the Kansas City region. His depth of experience in managing teams and maintaining power and cooling equipment gives Cavern a deep and trusted resource for its infrastructure and beyond. Mike carries EPA and HVAC certifications.
